SHS powerlifting hosts invitational

The Somerville powerlifting hosted its annual Somerville Invitational Meet on Feb. 8 at the Yegua Center.La Grange and Normangee attended the meet to compete with Somerville.La Grange won the boys team title and was second in the girls team standings.

Hornets open with 3-2 win over Academy

The Caldwell Hornets opened their baseball season on Monday, Feb. 17, with a 3-2 road win over Little River-Academy, drawing a walk in the final extra inning to score the winning run.With the game tied 2-2, Caldwell’s Chase Faust drew a walk to score Coy Becka from third.

Hornets finish season with loss at Navasota

The Caldwell Hornets completed their season last Friday with a 69-49 road loss to Navasota.The Hornets finished their season 12-20 overall and 2-8 in district play.Caldwell kept it close in the first half, particularly with a 13-6 second quarter run that cut Navasota’s lead to 23-21 at halftime.

Lady Hornets take second at Columbus Tournament

The Caldwell Lady Hornets golf team place second on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Columbus Tournament, and the boys team, playing Monday, Feb. 10, placed fifth.The girls placed second behind Bellville with a score of 432 on a rain soaked course. The tournament was rained out on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Lady Hornet softball 2025 season begins

Last week, the Lady Hornet softball season officially began with a 3-0 loss to Brenham on Tuesday and going 1-1-3 at the NFCA Texas High School Leadoff Classic.Caldwell hosted one of the tournament sites at Weiss Field.

Lady Jays play at Madisonville Tourney

Snook officially began its softball season at the Madisonville Tournament last week.The Lady Jays opened the tournament against host team Madisonville, falling to the Lady Mustangs 5-1.Kalyn Cooper was 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI to lead the Snook offense.
