Lady Yeguas win district opener over Hearne

The Lady Yeguas won their district opener last Friday on the road in Hearne, beating the Lady Eagles 25-6, 2514, 24-26, 25-9.Karys Ellis led Somerville at the net with 13 kills and four blocks.

Somerville seeking 2-0 district start at Iola

The Somerville Yeguas, off to a promising 3-1 start after a district opening win over Snook on Sept. 13, will face 2-2 Iola in a road game this Friday.Somerville had an open date last week for the Burleson County Fair, and Yeguas Head Coach Philip Roberts said Iola will be tough.

Caldwell returns to play with Lexington road game

The improved Caldwell Hornets, 2-2 after a 49-24 win over Smithville on Sept. 20, return to action this Friday after an open date for a road game at Lexington.The always strong Eagles are off to a 5-0 start, coming off a 64-7 win over Hearne last Friday.

Lady Hornet JV vball falls to Bellville

The Caldwell JV volleyball team traveled to Bellville last Tuesday to begin district play, and lost in straight sets 1725, 9-25.The Lady Hornets found themselves behind early in the first set 0-6, but after a time out, they slowly started chipping away at the Brahmanette lead.

CHS VB loses district opener to #2 Bellville

The Lady Hornets went into Bellville last Tuesday to wrangle the Class 4A Number 2 team in the state, but fell to the Brahmanettes in straight sets 17-25, 8-25, 10-25.The Caldwell offense was led by Reese Mc-Manus with five kills and Lydia Giese with six assists.
