Schluens, Hafernick compete at regionals

Caldwell’s Cooper Schluens and Jordyn Hafernick competed last week at the Region 3-4A Golf Tournament at Bearkat Course in Huntsville.Schluens, a sophomore playing on April 13-14, shot a 101 on the first day and a 92 on the second day.

Caldwell falls to Bellville, Giddings

The Caldwell Hornetlost to Bellville 9-3 on Monday in Bellville, following two losses last week to Giddings.The Hornets lost 11-1 to Giddings on Tuesday, April 14, at home and 17-4 on Friday in Giddings.The losses dropped Caldwell to 11-12-1 overall and 3-6 in district play.

Lady Yeguas lose two games to Iola

The Lady Yeguas lost two heart-breakers to Iola last week -- each loss by only one run.In the first game, the game was tied 7-7 in the bottom of the seventh when an Iola player singled to score the winning run (8-7) from third.

Lady Hornets split with Lady Leps

Last week, the Lady Hornets split their series with La Grange, with each home team winning.On April 7 on the road, Caldwell was edged out by the Lady Leps 12-11.

Lady Hornets land 7 on All-District soccer team

District 24-4A officials recently announced their selections to the girls All-District soccer team, and seven Lady Hornets were honored.Senior Adeline Hicks and junior Angie Lobo were selected to the district’s First Team.

In a 2-1 loss to Mumford at home last Tuesday, ace pitcher Emma Williams had 16 strikeouts.Williams pitched a complete game (seven innings), allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and walking three.
