Mumford dominates in shutout wins over Snook

The Snook Bluejays fell 15-0 at Mumford on Tuesday, March 17, an 18-0 on Friday, March 20, at home.In game one, Mumford finished with 14 hits and 1 error and held Snook to no hits with 1 error.Mumford scored 6 runs in the bottom of the first inning and 9 in the bottom of the second.

Somerville falls to Iola in two district games

The Somerville Yeguas lost twice in district play to Iola last week, 10-0 on Tuesday, March 17, in Iola, and 16-1 at home on Friday.In the Tuesday game, Somerville trailed 7-0 in the first inning and 10-0 in the third.Iola had 10 hits and no errors, and the Yeguas were held to no hits with 1 error.

Last week at the Iola Bulldog Relays, Dudensing won first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:08.68. He also won first in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:54.23 and first in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:34.87.

Ellis set two Somerville school records during last week’s Happy Skrabanek Relays in Caldwell jumping a distance of 15 feet, 11 inches in the girls long jump and running 27.06 in the girls 200-meter dash.

Lady Hornet softball beats Navasota, falls to Bellville

The Lady Hornets improved to 2-1, after going 1-1 in district play last week.Last Tuesday, Caldwell hosted Bellville, falling to the Brahmanettes 9-5.After falling behind 9-1 by the top of the sixth inning, Caldwell scored four runs to make it a game.

Caldwell tennis competes at Aggieland March Tournament

The Caldwell tennis team recently competed at the 2026 Aggieland March Tournament at A&M Consolidated.In mixed doubles C, Wyatt Beasley and Savanna Ginnis won their first round match 6-0, 6-1, and then won their semifinal match 6-2, 7-5, before falling in the championship match 1-6, 2-6.

Yeguas split with RTC in doubleheader

The Somerville Yeguas opened District 26-2A play last Tuesday, March 10, with a doubleheader at Round Top-Carmine, losing game one 4-3 and winning game two 16-4.The win in game two improved the Yeguas to 4-11 overall and 1-1 in district play.

Lady Yeguas fall to Brazos 2-0

In their final non-district game, the Lady Yeguas lost a close game 2-0 to Brazos last Tuesday, March 10, on the road.All the scoring was done in the bottom of the second inning when Brazos scored a run off a Somerville error and another off a Rylee Kleas ground out.
