CHS freshman VB falls to Leon

The Caldwell freshman volleyball team opened up their season last week at home against Leon, falling to the Lady Cougars in straight sets.However, the Lady Hornets pushed the first set to 24-26 after coming from behind.Some highlights from the game included: * Georgi Naquin with seven aces.

The Caldwell Hornets had their moments offensively and defensively in the early going of a 1-1 scrimmage tie last Friday at home against Anderson-Shiro.

Lady Hornets take home silver from Leon Tourney

Mumford won a heartbreaker match over the Lady Hornets to take home the first place in the Silver Bracket from the 54th Leon Varsity Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.Caldwell and Mumford each won a set 25-19, 17-25, forcing a third set where the Lady Mustangs edged out the Lady Hornets 25-27.

Jane Anne Giese is back at the helm, leading the Lady Hornet volleyball team.And, Giese is “really excited” to be back.Giese will have a young varsity team with no seniors, seven juniors, one sophomore and four freshmen, and she believes that this year will be a “year of growth.

The Deanville Reds 14U Pony League baseball team competed in the league’s Zone Tournament in Youngsville, Louisana, over July 2529.The Reds advanced to the Zone Tournament after winning the Section Tournament title in June.
