Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is hosting a “Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes” series of classes at the Burleson County Extension Office.
Classes will be held on Fridays starting Oct. 16 and will continue through Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. until noon.
The cost is $10 per person for the entire series which will include a workbook, recipes and food samples.

In Burleson County, 11% of adults are diagnosed with diabetes, according to the 2026 State of Health Report. And, statewide, approximately 1in Texas have been diagnosed with diabetes, and more than 2 out of 5 adults have prediabetes.
Diabetes is a chronic condition that affects the body’s ability to produce insulin or use it effectively and, over time, can lead to serious health complications such as heart disease, kidney disease, vision loss, and nerve damage.
“Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes” is a course designed to help individuals living with diabetes better manage their condition and improve their quality of life.
The comprehensive program provides practical guidance on self-care, nutrition, physical activity, blood glucose monitoring and medication basics. By addressing everyday decisions and challenges, the course empowers participants to take control of their health with confidence.
“Living with diabetes can feel overwhelming, but education is a powerful tool,” said Holly Narro, Burleson County Extension Agent with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. “This course equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to make informed choices every day.”
