Dallia Mae Paschall Junek

Dallia Mae Paschall Junek, of Snook, was greeted by her Savior on Friday, February 9, 2024.

Her faithfulness to her God and Savior was an example to all who knew her. She was loved by many for her infectious laugh, humor and sweetness. She will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.

The funeral service is set for 10:00 a.m. at the Snook Brethren Church on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

Interment will follow the service at the Snook Cemetery.

Dallia entered this world on November 9, 1929, in Lyons, Texas, as a preemie whose first bed was a shoebox by the wood burning stove. Her parents were Addie Monroe Paschall and Wyatt Paschall, and she grew up in Somerville.

When her dad joined the U.S. Navy during WWII, she and her mom joined him in California for a short time.

They moved to Hempstead, Texas her senior year, where Dallia then graduated from Hempstead High School.

Dallia met Clarence while attending a dance in Deanville. After that first dance, they danced together the rest of the night and the rest of their lives. They were married on September 18, 1947.

Dallia Mae was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband, Clarence Lee; a loving mother to Clarence, Roland, and Karen (Junek) Schovajsa and J.D. and a doting Mimi/Gigi to their seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She loved having her family together which always included fun, food and mostly fellowship.

Her rabbit cakes at Easter for each of the grandkids and “Mimi’s meat” invoke special memories. She was an awesome cook and loved sharing with others. Her banana pudding and cherry cream pie and strudel were particular favorites.

Dallia’s favorite pastime was music: singing, playing the organ, piano, accordion and listening to the polkas on Czech Polka Time.

Her plan was to continue an education in music, but her first dance with Clarence sent her along a different path.

Dallia sang at many weddings, funerals, and revival services over the years.

For years, she sang in the church choir and played the organ. Dallia and Audrey Hejl were known as the “Dynamic Duo!”

Dallia was active in church functions with her children and a sponsor in the BYF. She volunteered as a cook for EBC and had as much fun as the campers singing and participating in skits. One of her favorite projects with the mission group was making bandages to send overseas.

Dallia was also active in school functions and the PTA.

Dallia was an active member of the Somerville Chapter of The Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron several times and loved the fellowship of this organization.

She loved needle work as well as patching Clarence and her favorite son-inlaw’s jeans and shirts.

Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends were all recipients of quilt hangings, crocheted stockings, afghans and other small projects.

Her plethora of photo albums always brought great joy and rekindled memories of so many fun times.

Dallia was preceded in death by the love of her life, Clarence; her parents; and three infant sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen (JD) Schovajsa; sons, Roland and Clarence W. Junek; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are members of the Lee Scott Lodge #793 in Somerville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Snook Brethren Church, Hope Evangelical Free Church, Snook Cemetery, Eastern Star Lodge #245, in Somerville.

Special thanks go out to Traditions Home Health; in particular to Jennifer Spencer of Caldwell. Jennifer had a special bond with both Dallia and Clarence. We would also like to thank Amy Hildebrand at Burleson County Health Resources of Caldwell, for the awesome job scheduling rides for Dallia to her various medical appointments. Last, but definitely not least, is the ENTIRE staff at Swing Bed, St. Joseph Health Burleson Hospital in Caldwell. The way they loved and spoiled Dallia, made her feel like a queen. She was surrounded by love and care during her final days. We also want to acknowledge Dr. Parsi, whose compassion and concern for Dallia, did not go unnoticed.
