Frances Darlene Royal, 86, of Caldwell, died on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021.
Darlene was born on Dec. 3, 1934, to Clate and Hattie Harden, number 13 in a family of 15 children.
She married Thomas Royal on March 12, 1955. She had six children, 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
She loved her family more than anything and was immensely proud of them all.
Darlene worked at many jobs. She worked many years in the hospital and nursing home a nurse’s aide and then became a medications aide.
She was in the process of getting her dietitian’s license when she had a stroke that took part of her eyesight.
She also kept the books for Royal Hot Oil Service for several years.
Darlene loved so many things. She enjoyed traveling to see this beautiful country. She loved gospel music and going to listen to gospel singing whether it was to a Bill Gaither Homecoming concert or her own children singing.
Her family was her greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clate and Hattie Harden; multiple siblings; multiple in-laws; and her grandson, Adam Royal.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Thomas Royal; her children, Thomas Royal Jr. and wife, Kay, Ronald Royal, Donald Royal Sr. and wife, Louise, Johnny Royal and wife, Charlotte, Connie Sargent and husband, Bill, and Lonnie Royal and wife, Chris; her grandchildren, Michael Royal, Donald Royal Jr., Cynthia Royal, Scott Royal, Crystal Royal, Rebecca Royal, Nick Royal, Cody Blum, and Jordan Blum; her great-grandchildren, Zachary and Noah Joiner, and Wesley and Azalia Royal; her brother, Amos Harden and wife, Imogene; her sisters, Velma Brown and Shirley Bohanan; her sisters-in-law, Nena Harden, Eunice Harden, Connie Harden, Winnie Stark; and many nieces and nephews.
