DON STRONG

Graveside services for Don Edward Strong, Sr., 78, of Chriesman, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at the Chriesman Cemetery with Pastor John Dowling officiating.

Burial will follow at the Chriesman Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Mr. Strong died on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021.

Don was born on May 18, 1942, in Chriesman to Thomas and Lela (Piwetz) Strong.

He graduated from Caldwell High School in May of 1960.

Don then attended Blinn College for three years and transferred to Texas A&M University to finish in 1965 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Industrial Technology in Engineering.

He worked for Mosher Steel of Houston until he moved back to Chriesman to help his father on the farm and take care of his ill mother.

Don married the love of his life, Sandria Whited, on April 15, 1965.

Don operated S&M Grocery and BBQ for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lela (Piwetz) Strong.

Don is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandria Strong; his sons, Don “Eddy” Strong and wife, Debbie, and Dan Strong and wife, Charlotte; his sisters, Peggy Acebo and husband, Richard, and Karen Davenport and husband, Brian; his grandchildren, Jesse Strong and wife, Rachel, Leighla Strong, D.J. Strong, Masson Orr, Nicolaus LaRocca, and Kayla LaRocca; and his great-grandchildren, Colton Strong and Hayden Strong.
