Jane “Janie” Mitchell

Jane “Janie” Mitchell was born in Rigby, Idaho, on Jan. 29, 1959.

Janie passed to the other side of the veil peacefully in her home in Caldwell, on Dec. 3, 2025.

She grew up in the Mud Lake area, attending school in Terreton, Idaho.

Janie worked with law enforcement in Idaho as a dispatcher.

Janie was active in church, and loved the Lord with all her heart.

She loved doing genealogy and Family History. She had just started classes in Family History at the local library.

She also loved gardening and loved that Texas had both spring and fall seasons.

She came to Texas a few years ago “so I don’t have to shovel snow!”

Janie enjoyed knitting, and was active in the “Knot Just for Knitting” group at the library.

She was always laughing, and many commented on how she laughed all the time and was always happy, no matter the situation she was in. She said being happy is a choice.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ruby Lott Mitchell; two brothers, Jimmy and Timmy; a sister, Nancy; her husband, Steven Miller; and a daughter, Jody.

She is survived by her brothers, Ned, Rex, Ross, Danny and Tom; and sisters, Jeanie, Jenny, Melody, Susan, Ruby and Althea; and a daughter, Peggy.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home of Caldwell.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Liberty Cemetery.
