Private family graveside services for Juanita Alma Hueske Landolt, 95, of Lyons, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.

Mrs. Landolt died on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021.

Juanita was born on Oct. 29, 1925, in Gay Hill, Texas, to Waga (Mantey) Hueske and Rueben Hueske.

Her family lived in Washington County and then moved to Somerville.

Juanita graduated from Somerville High School in 1943.

She married John Bertell Landolt on Oct. 30, 1943. To their union were born eight children.

Their family home in Somerville was where the entrance to Lake Somerville’s Welch Park is currently located.

Bert and Juanita packed up their family and moved to Lyons in 1962.

Bert worked most of his life at Santa Fe Tie Treating plant in Somerville.

Juanita stayed home raising their children.

She was a great cook and expert seamstress.

She enjoyed gardening and canning and loved to fish.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bert Landolt; her brother, R.J. Hueske; her sister, Stella Nienstedt; her daughters, Glenda Carlomagno, Lorri Mapes, and Stellene Hestand; her grandson, Jeffery Mapes; and her great-great-granddaughter, Kynleigh Marie Groce.

Juanita is survived by her daughters, Mary Murphy, Jo Smith, and Janetta Britt and husband, Kelly; her sons, John Bertell Landolt Jr. and wife, Beatrice, and Keith Landolt and wife, Melody; her son-in-law, Dante Carlomagno; her grandchildren, Chrissy Howard, Didi Carlomagno, Angie Bates, Brayla Leighton, John Bertell Landolt III, Justin Lewis, Jonna See, Kadi Webb, Edward Varner, Lindsey Curington, Bree Patranella, Brandie Suehs, Garrett Smith, Lauren Smith, Keith Landolt Jr, Kevin Landolt, and Mariah Sandner; numerous great-grandchildren; and her great-great-granddaughter, Ivey Lewis.

Pallbearers are Justin Lewis, Randy See, Keith Landolt Jr., Kevin Landolt, Garrett Smith, Doug Curington and John Bertell Landolt.

Honorary pallbearers are Kutter Rohrbach and Kason Rohrbach.
