Lester Milton Marek, 71, of Caldwell, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2023, in College Station, Texas.
A public visitation was held on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Graveside services and interment were held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in Snook, Texas, where Lester will rest near his parents.
Lester spent most of his life in Houston, graduating from Reagan High School in 1969.
He worked at Shell Oil Company for many years and retired from Continental Airlines.
He was good with numbers and enjoyed managing his investments.
After retirement, he spent most of his time traveling, especially to his favorite destination of Las Vegas.
He was a big fan of the Houston Astros and cheered them on enthusiastically.
He will be missed dearly.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Rosalie and Milton.
He is survived by his sister, Diana Gilbert and her husband, Mike; his niece, Tami Whitmarsh and her husband, Brad; and his nephew, Jason Gilbert and his wife, Meagan. He is also survived by his great-nieces, Camryn Whitmarsh, Lauren Whitmarsh, Peyton Whitmarsh, Anna Gilbert, and Haley Gilbert.
