Doris Hieden of Caldwell recently placed fourth in the world in the National Horseshoe Pitching Association’s 2019 Tournament in Wichita Falls. Competing in the women’s division, Hieden, a five-time state champion, finished behind Lindsay Hodgins of British Columbia, 14 wins and two losses, first place; Marlene Ray of Tennessee, 13-3, second; and Joan Elmore of Tennessee, 12-3, third.
