The Caldwell Hornets were hoping for a share of the district title, but poor shooting, particularly in the second half, proved too costly in a 53-41 road loss to Navasota last Friday.

The loss dropped Caldwell into a secondplace tie with Bellville, both with 6-3 records, headed into the Hornets’ final regular season game on Tuesday, Feb. 18, against Giddings at home.
