Snook and Shiner combined for just 24 points in the first half Saturday in their arearound contest in Fayetteville. After a slow start, the Number 17 Lady Jays came out of halftime with their defense controlling the third quarter, only allowing one basket -- a threepointer from Emma Herman -- for a 14-3 run, giving Snook the cushion it needed for the 35-21 area round win over Shiner.
