The Burleson County Saddle Club will host the 53rd Annual Burleson County Youth Rodeo this weekend, July 19-21, at the Buddy and Edile Lightsey Rodeo Arena in Caldwell. Friday and Saturday will be the competition rounds.
CALDWELL ISD ATHLETICS HOSTED its annual Caldwell Basketball Camp over June 17-19 in the newly renovated Hornet Gym. The camp was for incoming fifth through ninth grade boy athletes. The campers learned basketball fundamentals and skills. The camp’s director was Casey McDaniel.

Snook BB camp set, July 16-18

The annual Bluejay Basketball Camp will be Tuesday-Thursday, July 16-18, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The camp is for all incoming second through ninth-graders. The cost is $40 per camper, and a camp T-shirt is included with the fee.

Hughes competes in Arizona

Caldwell’s Westyn Hughes competed in Tie-Down Roping at the World’s Oldest Rodeo in Prescott, Ariz., over July 1-7. Hughes did not place overall, but finished seventh in the second round with a time of 9.7 seconds, earning $481.

Cowboy Church plans VBS

The Burleson County Cowboy Church will host a summer kids Vacation Bible School with the theme of “Thundering Herd” from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, through Wednesday, July 24. The church is located at 300 County Road 169 in Caldwell.
