Firefighters were overwhelmed over the weekend and through Monday with a rash of controlled burns that got out of hand, requiring responses from multiple agencies, and causing large losses of hay bales.
In the Deanville area off County Road 324, 786 hay bales burned on Monday, Feb. 3, and a total of 20 bales were lost on County Road 270 and County Road 223 on Saturday, Feb. 1.
