Theft of calves investigated

Burleson County sheriff ’s deputies are investigating the theft of multiple calves reported missing last Friday, June 26, off F.M. 1361.Burleson County Sheriff Bill Rios said the owner reported 1014 calves with red ear tags missing at 10:27 a.m. on Friday.

Money stolen from woman’s account in scam

A Burleson County woman was recently scammed out of $7,681.93 by a man claiming to be from her bank.Burleson County Sheriff Bill Rios said the woman, who lives on County Road 364, got a call on June 12 from a man claiming to be from her bank, who already had all of her private bank information.

Man charged in livestock theft

A Caldwell area man was arrested on Wednesday, June 24, on a felony theft of livestock charge in connection with possession of a nearby property owner’s cow.Henry Joe Lawrence Smith, 88, was charged and is now free on $5,000 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.

Woman charged in violating bond, protective order

A Somerville area woman was arrested on Friday, June 26, on charges of violating bond/a protective order twice within 12 months.Daelynda Josonja Rios, 33, was charged and is now free on $20,000 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.
