‘Green industry’ shifts to steady growth following COVID-era

Texas ornamental horticulture remains a national leader with positive prospects for both industry producers and consumers despite increased input costs and intermittent supply chain disruptions, according to Texas A&M AgriLife experts.

The mud won!

Chilifest, Burleson County’s largest attended annual event and considered one of America’s premier live outdoor music events, was canceled on Saturday, April 11, due to muddy conditions prompted by recent rainfall.

Chamber holds annual banquet

Last Thursday, encased in the elegance of The Novo in downtown Caldwell, the Burleson County Chamber of Commerce held its annual banquet to honor chamber members and volunteers.The guest speaker was John Lowery, the owner of the Humble Donkey art studio located in Round Top, featuring his own art.

Building damaged in Cade Lake fire

A fire destroyed a workshop on Tuesday night, April 7, at 336 Elm Drive at Cade Lake off F.M. 908, but the cause of the fire remains unknown.Cade Lake Volunteer Fire Department Chief David Pevehouse said the fire destroyed the metal frame building and a lawnmower and motorcyle inside.
