Shiloh Missionary Baptist to receive historical marker

An official Texas Historical Marker will be dedicated for Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, March 8, at noon.The Burleson County Historical Commission will be conducting the dedication program, and the commission, along with the church congregation, invite the public to attend.

Woman hurt in truck-car crash at 21-F.M. 50

A College Station woman was injured on Thursday morning, Feb. 27, in a truck-car collision at the State Highway 21 East and F.M. 50 intersection.The accident occurred at 7:05 a.m.

Small fire contained at Woodrow Lake area

Caldwell and Cooks Point volunteer firefighters responded on Sunday afternoon, March 2, to a small fire in wooded acreage at Woodrow Lake off F.M. 2000, but it was quickly contained and confined to that area.

Local firefighters assist at Milam County blaze

Cade Lake, Deanville and Black Jack volunteer firefighters assisted Rockdale Fire Department in battling a large fire consuming pasture land and wooded acreage on Sunday afternoon, March 2, in Milam County, about a half a mile from the Burleson County line.
