Snook area residents offered comments for the city council on Monday, Sept. 23, on whether to establish a police department, some questioning the necessity at this time with others saying an ambulance was a greater immediate need.

County OKs rules for subdivisions, imposes burn ban

Burleson County Commissioners on Monday, Sept. 23, formally approved revisions to their subdivision regulations and engineering guidelines and imposed a 90-day outdoor burning ban.

CISD sets ’24-25 tax rate

In 2024-2025, Caldwell ISD residents will once again see the lowest tax rate the district has had in over 25 years.During Monday’s Caldwell School Board meeting, the board approved setting the district’s total tax rate at $0.9171 per $100 valuation.

Grass fire burns 20 acres off County Road 116

A grass fire burned about 20 acres off County Road 116 near Deanville on Friday afternoon, September 13, damaging pasture land for two landowners.

Man charged in felony possession

A 19-year-old Austin man was arrested by a DPS trooper on Saturday morning, Sept. 14, on a felony possession charge after a traffic stop on State Highway 21 East.

Fence damage case investigated
