Snook accepts ROWs for Sebesta Subdivision

The Snook City Council has taken one more step in eventually taking over maintenance of city streets.The city council on Monday, Feb. 26, approved accepting conveyance of right of ways in the Sebesta Subdivision and paying $7,000 for a formal survey.

Man charged in sex abuse of child

An Austin man was arrested on Feb. 12 on a warrant for continuous sexual abuse of a child in connection with three incidents occurring over the last year.

Man charged in attempted arson

A Caldwell area man was arrested on Feb. 12 on charges of attempted arson and attempted endangering of a child in connection with an incident at a home on County Road 316.

May 4 city, school election filings end

Anyone wishing to run in the May 4 city or school board elections have missed their chance.Filings began Jan. 17 and ended Friday at 5 p.m.In the City of Caldwell, Brad Oliver is challenging Janice Easter for the mayor’s position.

Cabin on CR 430 investigated as arson

Someone burned down a cabin early Monday at 520 County Road 430, and the case is being investigated as an arson.Burleson County Chief Deputy Bill Rios said the case is being investigated by the Bryan Fire Department, and a surveillance video at the scene is being evaluated to identify a suspect.
