Somerville Council OKs alley ROW closing

The Somerville City Council has approved closing an alley right of way by the Somerville Area Assistance Ministries (SAAM) House to allow for their building expansion.The council made that decision at its Tuesday, Feb. 13, meeting.

Pape gets one-year contract extension

Dr. Megan Pape will continue to lead Snook ISD for many years to come.Last Thursday, the Snook ISD School Board approved a one-year contract extension for Dr. Pape to keep her in the district until June 30, 2027.The extension was approved after the board met in closed session.

Lions Club to hold Denim, Dinner & Dance

The Caldwell Burleson County Lions Club will be hosting its third annual Denim Dinner and Dance on this Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Caldwell Civic Center.There will be a social hour at 6 p.m. with the dinner beginning at 7 p.m.Tickets are $50 each or $500 for a VIP table.

Snook, Somerville ISDs pass state school property value study

After both Snook and Somerville ISDs failed last year’s property value studies by the State of Texas, both school districts passed this year’s study.The Texas Comptroller’s Office recently released the preliminary findings of the 2023 School District Property Value Study.
