A 58-year-old Caldwell woman was arrested on Monday, Dec. 15, on a felony DWI charge after a Caldwell police traffic stop on East Mustang Street.

Fire burns hay bales on CR 119

Embers blown by the wind from a brush pile fire spread to four hay bales on Thursday, Dec. 18, on County Road 119, but the fire was contained to the bales and about one acre.Beaver Creek and Snook volunteer firefighters responded at about 4:45 p.m.

8 acres burn in CR 227 grass fire

A grass fire that started on Friday afternoon, Dec. 19, on one property off County Road 227, just past F.M. 1362 South, and spread to a neighbor’s land eventually burned about 8 acres before Cooks Point volunteer firefighters controlled it.

Man charged in drug possession

A Burleson County sheriff’s deputy arrested a 46-year-old Caldwell area man on Tuesday, Dec. 16, traffic stop on a felony drug charge and on a charge of tampering with physical evidence.

A 37-year-old Kenedy man was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 16, on a felony charge of tampering with physical evidence after a Caldwell police traffic stop on State Highway 36 North.

Caldwell Lions helping build wheelchair ramps

Many Texans using wheelchairs or walkers are stuck in their homes for long stretches of time, but the Caldwell Men’s Lions Club has partnered with the Texas Ramp Project to help alleviate those burdens in Burleson County.

Museum hosts open house

The Burleson County Historical Museum hosted an open house on Friday, Dec. 19, from 2-4 p.m.Historical Commission member Melynda Giesenschlag said the museum is open every Friday afternoon, but wanted to host an event to encourage visitors.
