POSGCD OKs fee increases, budget

Following public hearings at their Tuesday, Nov. 18 meeting, the Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District Board approved their $11.6 million budget for 2026 and their fee schedule, including increases in the production and transport fees.

Caldwell Council takes next steps on HART land lease

The Caldwell City Council approved the next steps of a land lease with local nonprofit Haven Animal Rescue of Texas (HART) at its Tuesday, Nov. 18, meeting.The land is three acres located on FM 975, near the lift station, and the lease will extend for 25 years at a rate of $1 per year.

Food drive set for Dec. 3

The annual Food for Families Food Drive will be hosted in Caldwell at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Gym on Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.Donations are welcome in the form of non-perishable foods, monetary contributions, or volunteer hours.

Two women were transported to area hospitals on Friday, Nov. 14, after a collision involving a trucktractor rig and their car on Friday, Nov. 14, at State Highway 21 and Thomas Street.The accident occurred at 1:11 p.m.

Man charged in assault on firefighters

A Beaver Creek man was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 13, on a felony assault on a public servant warrant in connection with an attack on Beaver Creek firefighters responding to a burn ban violation.

Project SNIP hosts Deanville TNR clinic

Project SNIP of Burleson County hosted a free Trap Neuter Return (TNR) clinic, sponsored by the City of Caldwell, at the Deanville Volunteer Fire Department on Monday, Nov. 17.Project SNIP representative Anastasia Tucker said the clinic was a resounding success “Our goal was 100 cats,” Tucker said.
