County leaders continue hazard mitigation plans

Burleson County leaders are continuing their ongoing meetings and strategies for a Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HMAP).The plan, updated every five years, involves coordination between local off icials and the public, including through a series of public meetings designed to get feedback.

SISD hires Peck for communications and marketing

Somerville ISD has added a new position to the district -- Director of Communications and Marketing -- and has hired the first person to hold this position: Ben Peck.The hire was made after the Somerville School Board met in closed session during its November regular meeting last Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Brazos Valley Gives raises $1.56M for nonprofits

Burleson County organizations receive donations Several Burleson County nonprofits participated in the annual Brazos Valley Gives -- featuring 18 hours of online giving throughout the Brazos Valley, which took place on Oct. 21.Early giving began on Sept. 22.

4 arrested in felony drug case

Two men and two women were arrested on Thursday, Nov. 13, on first degree felony drug charges after a Caldwell police traffic stop on State Highway 21 West.
