Scare on the Square set for Saturday, Oct. 25

Caldwell’s annual Scare on the Square celebration will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25, beginning at 5 p.m. in downtown Caldwell.The event will feature trunk-or-treating, two movie showings and Project Graduation’s haunted house fundraiser, as well as additional concessions and plenty of candy.

Sheriff Rios urges locals to be wary of phone scams

With so many recent scams by persons impersonating law officers, Burleson County Sheriff Bill Rios wants everyone to know what to look for.In particular, remember that law enforcement officers will never ask you for money over the phone, Rios said.

Livengood gives thanks

On July 29, Gretchen Livengood’s life changed in an instant when her car was struck broadside by an 18-wheeler at the F.M. 60 and F.M. 50 intersection.Livengood was lifeflighted to St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan, where she remained in the Intensive Care Unit for some time.

Project SNIP hosts annual Pumpkin Patch

Project SNIP of Burleson County’s annual Pumpkin Patch fundraiser is currently set up at the Harrie P. Woodson Memorial Library and will remain open until Friday, Oct. 31.The pumpkin patch is open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Deputies search for missing man

A Burleson County man has been missing since Sunday, Oct. 12, and Burleson County sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public’s help in finding him.Dennis Leon (D.L.) Krueger Jr., is 45 years old, 5 foot, 10 inches tall, 160 pounds with red hair and hazel eyes.
