Snook ISD to increase security

Snook ISD is increasing campus security by purchasing four new walk-through metal detectors.Interim Snook ISD Superintendent John O’Brien proposed the added security measures of metal detectors during the school board’s Monday, Oct. 20, meeting.

SISD approves new high school campus drawing

Construction of the new Somerville High School campus is becoming more fact than fiction after the Somerville School Board’s Oct. 8 meeting.The board approved the latest schematic drawing by SZS Architecture of Bryan, the district’s architecture for the 2025 voter-approved bond projects.

Texas Czech Genealogical Society Gift ShopTexas Czech Genealogical Society (TCGS) will be hosting its Czech Gift Shop at the Caldwell Civic Center on Friday, Oct. 24, from 2-4 p.m. and during its meeting on Saturday, Oct. 25, with event registration required to enter the gift shop on Saturday.

Man charged in felony stalking

A Caldwell area man was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 9, on a felony stalking charge.Justin Wade Supak, 43, was charged with the third-degree felony and remains in Burleson County custody on $5,000 bond, according to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.

Man charged in aggravated assault case

A 55-year-old Somerville area man was arrested on Monday, Oct. 6, on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon warrant in connection with an October 2024 incident at Somerville Place Subdivision.
