Man dies crash on SH 36 South

An unidentified man was killed early Monday, Sept. 29, in a headon collision involving his car and an 18-wheeler on State Highway 36 South.DPS troopers were still trying to identify the man on Tuesday, Sept. 30, and then notify his next of kin before releasing his name, said DPS Sgt. Justin Ruiz.

Snook forfeits rest of its games

Snook High School has decided to forfeit the remainder of their 2025 varsity football games, including the remainder of their District 13-2A games, and play a junior varsity schedule for the rest of the year.

Restoration begins at Dabney Hill lodge

On an unassuming plot of land in Snook, nestled amongst trees, stands a two-story wooden building.Although it might look fragile from the outside, this historic building is anything but -- the Dabney Hill lodge itself has withstood hurricanes, hailstorms and the ravages of time for over a century.
