CHS tennis starts season with 8-11 loss to Bastrop

    The Caldwell Hornet tennis team lost its season opener on Aug. 11 to Bastrop on the road 8-11.

    Some of the matches played did not count towards the final team scores.

    In boys’ singles: * Waylon Chapman defeated Caleb Cadena 8-2.

    * Connor Hughson beat Aloe Garcia 8-4.

    * Alejandro Zapata beat Luis Cruz 8-6.

    * Breyden Athey defeated Corbin Poston 8-3.
