The Somerville City Council is proposing a 71.615 cent property tax rate for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
The city council approved that proposed rate on a 4-0 roll call vote at their Tuesday, Aug. 11, meeting.
The proposed rate is the effective tax rate, the rate needed to generate the same amount of revenue as last year, but less than last year’s rate of 74.116 cents per $100 valuation.
