Evelyn Kristoff Krueger, 85, of Caldwell, passed away peacefully at her home on July 29, 2025.
A celebration of her life was held at 10:00 a.m. on August 5, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell, with Father Melvin Dornak officiating.
She was laid to rest at the Caldwell Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on August 4, 2025, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.
Evelyn was born on September 27, 1939, in Deanville, to Edward and Milady (Beran) Kristoff.
She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell and was a graduate of Caldwell High School.
She later married the love of her life and dancing partner, Jimmie Krueger, on November 30, 1963. Together, they shared a beautiful life grounded in faith and family.
As a devoted Christian and lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Evelyn found joy in serving through St. Mary’s Altar Society Funeral Committee. She had a deep appreciation for the simple blessings in life.
She enjoyed gardening, spending time with loved ones, and being with her family in the country.
She also had a love for Polka music, dancing and sharing laughter over the game of 42.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jimmie; her parents; and her sister, Gloria and husband, Julius Kubena.
She is survived by her two loving sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Michelle (Eubanks) Krueger, and Gary and Lindsay (Evans) Krueger of Deanville; her granddaughter, Alison Krueger; step-granddaughter, Megan and husband, Anthony Tapia. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, James and Birdie Kristoff of Rockdale; as well as many nieces and nephews who knew her as Sugie.
Serving as pallbearers were Donnie Kubena, Darrell Kubena, Brian Kubena, Dwayne Beran, Anthony Schroeder and Keith Maresh.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Mary’s Altar Society Funeral Committee, The Knights of Columbus Council #6366, or a charity of your choice.
