Irene Schumacher, 91, of Caldwell, was born on Nov. 23, 1933, to Otto and Mary Lehde Prieve.
Irene graduated from Caldwell High School in 1953.
After high school, she remained close to home, working on the family farm and supporting her parents.
On Nov. 8, 1958, she married Edwin Schumacher. Together, they built a life full of love and laughter, dancing together every chance they got.
Irene was a dedicated homemaker and caregiver.
She had a deep love of reading, a warm and welcoming voice that friends enjoyed over long phone conversations, and an infectious joy for dancing with her beloved husband.
And her faith was celebrated at Elizabeth Lutheran Church.
After Edwin’s passing eight years ago, Irene moved in with her daughter Ann and husband Daniel where she lived for six years before becoming a resident at Burleson Manor where she lived out her final days.
A woman of grace, kindness, and quiet strength, Irene will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She died on May 25, 2025. She is survived by one daughter and her husband; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
