Funeral services for James Michael Richardson, 74, of Somerville, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Caldwell.
James was born on Oct. 25, 1950, in Sugar Land, to Robert and Mary Richardson.
He grew up in Alief, where they had a dairy farm and grew cotton.
James graduated from Caldwell High School in 1969.
He attended Texas State Technical Institute in Waco for diesel mechanics.
In 1973, James began working for Raymond Jurica as a farm equipment mechanic.
He married Margaret Zalman on April 20, 1974, and to this union came two children.
During his life, James enjoyed working on trackers, hay balers, and raising cattle.
He became a member of Young Farmers of America, and then he was a member of the Farm Bureau board.
James was baptized and became a member of the Catholic Church in June 1988. It was at this that James became a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as treasurer.
He died on Saturday April 19, 2025.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one son; one daughter; one sister; one nephew; one niece; and four grandchildren.
