Paula Byrd Bernhardt, age 67, of Houston, passed away on March 15, 2025.
She was born April 17, 1957, in Houston.
She was raised in Burleson County and attended all grades of the Caldwell ISD and graduated in the class of 1975.
In addition to being an accomplished pianist, she was a percussionist and drum major in the Caldwell High School marching band.
She was also a UIL Twirler and H.S. Thespian and participated in state competitions for all of her activities.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence E. Bernhardt; sons, Tyler Nolan Bernhardt and wife, Stacy, and Trevor Boone Bernhardt and wife, Kayla; stepdaughters, Lisa Bernhardt Behler, Traci Bernhardt McCabe and Kimberly Bernhardt Shull; as well as her devoted brother, Mark Byrd of Dallas; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest D. Byrd and Wanda Faye McManners Byrd; brother, Michael P. Byrd; and stepdaughter, Lauren Bernhardt Gunderson.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
