WALTER PARIS GIBBS JR.

Walter Paris Gibbs, Jr. passed away at home on March 6, 2025, in Caldwell.

A celebration of life is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Caldwell Methodist Church.

Paris was born November 5, 1932, in Jacksonville, to Walter and Maddie Sue Gibbs.

He graduated from Naples High School, Lon Morris College and Southwestern University.

After he served in the U.S. Army for two years, Paris started his banking career in Houston in 1955 where he met his first wife, Bonnie Farmer, who passed away in 1975.

Paris enjoyed a long career in banking (from the mailroom to the President!) with Reagan, Guardian and Sterling Banks and retired to his ranch in Caldwell in 1995.

Paris married Janice Stoeckle White in 1978. Jan passed away in 2012.

Paris enjoyed his many years of service in the Rotary Club, holding many offices and many fun trips with the “Roaming Rotarians.”

He also loved his church.

Paris is survived by daughters, Debbie (John) Fincher, Susan White (partner, Greg Smith) and Lisa Stack; grandsons, Ben (Alice) Farmer, Andy (Michelle) Farmer, Emory (Lauren) Fincher and Thomas (Laura) Fincher; granddaughters, Lindsey Dukes (Tomal), Sarah Corbett (Chris) and Kay Thompson (Cory). Also 16 great-grandchildren and 19 greatgreat- grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers scheduled to serve are Alvin “Doc” Kutach, Ben and Andy Farmer and Emory and Thomas Fincher.
