Walter Rubin Englemann, 84, of Caldwell, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 18, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Strickland Funeral Home with the interment following at Masonic cemetery in Caldwell.
Walter was born June 29, 1938, to Anton and Minnie (Lina) Englemann in Burleson County.
He attended Caldwell schools and enjoyed playing football. After high school graduation, Walter join the U.S. Army and served his country for two years in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Walter then worked for TxDot for 39 years as a master mechanic. He also worked part-time a Sheriff’s deputy in Burleson County.
Walter and Lou Ann Englemann were married on January 20, 1990. They enjoyed working on their home and land and time with their friends and family.
Walter was a Baptist Deacon and served his Lord and Savior for over 50 years in that capacity.
Walter was also a member of the Caldwell Masonic Lodge since the 1960s.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lou Ann, and was a wonderful Dad to nine children: Debbie Morgan and husband, Bob, Robert Englemann and wife, Connie, Tracey Englemann and Raylene, Michael Englemann and wife, Sandi, Sherri Welch and husband, Jim, Jill Huggins and husband, Warren, Stephen Humphreys and wife, Deborah, Paula Barton and husband, Brian, and Joni Richeson and husband, Jim; and numerous grandkids; and greatgrandkids.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to the Shriner’s Hospital of Houston or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
