Snook struggles in losses to Mumford, Normangee

The Snook Bluejays fell to league leader Mumford 73-34 last Friday in Mumford. The Bluejays, who also lost a 58-46 home game on Jan. 30, to Normangee, fell to 1-6 in district play and 9-18 overall.

Though the final score didn’t matter, both Lady Hornet teams gave it their all in the annual Lady Hornet Alumni Softball Game. The game was Saturday, with the current team taking on former players -- including members from the state tournament team and several regional finalists.

The Caldwell Hornets, shaking off a disappointing 71-55 home loss to Manor New Tech on Jan. 29, kept its composure on defense in the final seconds and pulled out a 66-65 road win over Taylor last Friday.

Lady Hornets beat New Tech 49-11

The Lady Hornets celebrated Parent’s Night with a 49-11 win over Manor New Tech last Tuesday at Hornet Gym. Caldwell was led by Chassidy Rogers with 15 points. Riley Broaddus added 12 for the Lady Hornets.

Lady Jay bball falls to Normangee, Mumford

The Lady Jays had a tough week last week, falling at home to Normangee and on the road to Mumford. Last Tuesday, Snook hosted Normangee, falling to the Lady Panthers 37-22. Normangee jumped out to an early12-3 lead in the first quarter and extended its lead to 23-8 by halftime.

Lady Yeguas fall to Iola, Burton

The Lady Yeguas lost two district games last week. On Tuesday, Somerville lost at home to Burton 73-20. On Friday, the Lady Yeguas were on the road, falling to the Lady Bulldogs 57-16. Somerville was scheduled to finish its season at home on Tuesday, Feb. 6, hosting Normangee.

Yeguas win big over Iola, Burton, get to 6-1

The Somerville Yeguas breezed past Iola 77-30 and Burton 76-48 in district games last week, improving to 6-1 heading into the final three-game stretch and another shot at Mumford. The Yeguas, 22-6 overall, remain in second place behind Mumford, who is unbeaten in district play.
