CHS Lady Hornets host portion of Leadoff Classic

The Lady Hornets opened their regular season with a 10-0 road loss to Brenham before being a host school for the area’s Leadoff Classic.In Caldwell’s first tournament game on Thursday, the Lady Hornets fell to Ingleside 7-1.

Caldwell tennis fares well at CS Varsity Tournament

Caldwell tennis played at the College Station High Varsity Tennis Tournament last week with several players placing.Landon Vykukal won the consolation title in the boys singles A draw.In the first round, Vykukal fell to Reed Schuessler of A&M Consolidated 1-6, 6-3 (3-10).

Lady Yeguas place second in home softball tournament

The Lady Yeguas kicked off their softball season last week by hosting their annual Lady Yegua Softball Tournament...and the home team placed second.Somerville was in Pool A, playing on Thursday, with Pool B playing on Friday.Somerville began the tournament with a 7-5 win over BVCHEA HomeSchool.

Snook’s Jimmy Kearney got a steal, made a crucial layup and a free throw in the final 20 seconds as the Bluejays pulled out a 42-39 road win over a determined Somerville team last Friday.

CHS golfers place at Caldwell Tournament

The Caldwell Hornets Orange Team placed sixth on Feb. 2 at the Caldwell Tournament at Copperas Hollow Country Club.Caldwell finished with a score of 372, and Kaden Fritsche led the way with an 82.Rylan Cross scored 93, Conner Schroeder, 97, Cooper Schluens, 100, and Logan Barnes, 101.
