The Somerville Yeguas are getting closer and closer to a win. The Yeguas, rallying from a 29-7 deficit in the fourth quarter, put together two scoring drives and recovered a pair of onside kicks in the final minutes and were driving for what could have been the tying score.

Last week, the Lady Jays had two district matches on the schedule, and both were against Top 25 teams in Class 2A. On Tuesday, Sept. 26, Snook traveled to Number 21 Mumford, falling to the Lady Mustangs 15-25, 14-25, 21-25.

Last week, the Lady Yeguas lost two district matches. Last Tuesday, Somerville traveled Milano, falling to the Lady Eagles on straight sets 11-25, 11-25, 1325. Aubrey Kovasovic led the team’s offense with five kills . Abigail Flencher was the backline leader with 12 digs.

The Caldwell High School boys golf team placed third on Wednesday, Sept. 27, with a score of 361 in their first tournament of the year at the Texas A&M University course in College Station. The boys team included Grant McManus, Nathan Scott, Caden Schluens, Cobey McCuller and Spencer Ellis.
