The Caldwell Junior High eighth-grade A team beat Bellville on Oct. 26 on the road to win the district championship. The team was led by the duo of Keirstyn Macik and Lydia Giese. Macik had two aces nine kills, eight assists, two blocks and five digs, while L.

CHS JV VB falls to Giddings

In the final match of the season, the Caldwell High School junior varsity volleyball team fell to Giddings on the road 17-25, 14-25. Individual stats included: Mercy Chollett, seven kills; Tanzley Johnson, nine assists; Kylie Vogler, three kills.

Hornets fall to unbeaten Cuero 62-7, drop to 0-8

Caldwell expected a team loaded with talent, and they were not surprised in a 62-7 road loss to unbeaten Cuero last Friday. The Gobblers improved to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in district play while the Hornets remained winless in eight games.

CHS’ Ellis competes at regional XC meet

Caldwell High School’s Spencer Ellis finished 84th in the boys race at the UIL Class 4A Region 3 Cross Country Meet at Kate Barr Ross Memorial Park in Huntsville on Monday. Ellis ran the race in a time of 18:59.01. Luke Anderson of Salado won the race with a time of 15:59.47.
