Lady Yeguas fall to Mumford

The Lady Yeguas traveled to Mumford last week, falling to the Lady Mustangs in four sets 25-17, 5-25, 18-25, 14-25. Alazia Vela led the Somerville offense with 11 kills. The Lady Yegua backline was led by Averie Hernandez with 15 digs, Wendy Perez with 12 digs and Abigail Flencher with 11 digs.

CHS JV VB beats New Tech, falls to Taylor

Last week, the Caldwell JV volleyball team went 1-1, beating Manor New Tech and losing to Taylor. Last Tuesday, Caldwell hosted New Tech, winning 25-12, 25-9. Adeline hicks was solid from the service line with four aces. Molly Meadows led the Lady Hornets at the net with two kills.

Lady Hornet seniors get win on Senior Night

The Lady Hornets honored seven seniors last Tuesday night for Senior Night with a win in straight sets over Manor New Tech, before losing in straight sets on the road in Taylor on Friday. On Tuesday, the Lady Hornets defeated the Lady Titans 25-12, 25-23, 25-10.

CHS 9thgrade falls to La Grange

The Caldwell freshman volleyball team hosted La Grange on Oct. 13, losing to the Lady Leps 18-25, 20-25. Individual stats included: Fawn McDaniel, one ace, one kill, eight digs; Lucy Ferguson, one ace, one kill; Alexa Drew, three aces; Kamryn Hill, 14 digs.

Janac, Yen, Vela advance to Regional Cross Country

Snook’s Ethan Janac and Tristan Yen and Somerville’s Destiny Vela have punched their individual tickets to the UIL Class 2A Region 4 Cross Country Meet. The Running Yeguas boys team also advanced to the regional meet which will be Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi.
