Snook Lady Jay softball pitcher Aubrey Becker has been named Number 40 on the Texas High School Coaches Association girls softball batters struck out stat leader list. And, Somerville’s Abigail Flencher was named to the batting average stat leader list and to the no-hitter stat leader list.

Bluejay football camp set for July 24-25

The Bluejay football coaching staff is holding its annual football camp for incoming second through ninth-graders on Monday, July 24, and Tuesday, July 25, from 5-7 p.m. The cost is $25 per camper. Checks may be made payable to: Snook Athletics.

New time for Lady Jays softball camp, July 18-19

Due to heat-related issues, the Snook coaching staff has changed the time for next week’s Lady Jay Softball camp. The new time will be 8-10 a.m. on July 18-19, instead of 5-7 p.m. Girls entering second through ninth-grade are welcome to attend the annual event. The cost is $25 per camper.

Lady Hornet VBall Camp serves up July 27-28

Coach Wendy Weiss will be the facilitator at this year’s Lady Hornet Volleyball Camp. The camp will run July 27-28 with two sessions available. Session 1 will be for high school students from 9 a.m. until noon. Session 2 will be for students in fifth through eighth-grade from 1-4 p.m.

Hornet football camp scheduled for July 19

New Caldwell head football coach Sean Witherwax and his coaching staff will hold this year’s Hornet Football Camp on July 19-20 at the Caldwell High School football field. Students in third through sixth-grade will attend Session 1 from 8-9:30 a.m.

Hornet soccer camp kicks off July 24

Girls and boys in first through eighth-grades may attend the Hornet Soccer Camp on July 24-26. Coaches Burt Yates and Cayla Golson will facilitate the camp from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Caldwell High School football field. The cost is $40 per child to attend.

The Burleson County Crushers, an 8U tournament softball team in the area, won the title in the 8U Open division at last weekend’s NCS (National Championship Sports) Central Texas Tournament of Champions 6 GG. The tournament was played at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock on July 8-9.
