Somerville falls twice to Fayetteville, 13-0, 25-4

The Somerville Yeguas lost to Fayetteville twice last week, 13-0 on Tuesday, March 14, on the road, and 25-4 at home on Wednesday. Both games opened district play for Somerville, who fell to 1-8 overall.

Snook takes 2nd at Leon Tourney

The Snook High School boys golf team placed second at the Leon High School Golf Tournament on Monday, March 20, at Hilltop Lakes Golf Course Snook finished second with a team score of 366, one stroke behind tournament champion Lovelady, 365.

Hornets struggle in losses to Banquette, Bellville

The Caldwell Hornets fell to Banquette 5-2 last Wednesday and on Friday against Bellville, both at home. Caldwell fell to 4-8-1 for the season. Caldwell trailed 3-0 in the first inning and 5-0 going into the bottom of the third before scoring one run each in the third and fifth innings.

Errington lifts at regional meet

Caldwell’s Dylan Errington competed at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association’s (THSPA) Region 2 Division 2 Regional Meet and finished ninth in the 148-pound weight class.

Lady Hornets sting Centerville, Leon

Last week, the Lady Hornets 10-run ruled both opponents at home in five innings. Last Tuesday, Caldwell hosted Centerville, beating the Lady Tigers 14-4. Caitlyn Faust led the Lady Hornets at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a double in the bottom of the fourth.

Last Saturday, Somerville powerlifter Herschel Conway lifted 960 pounds to win the 132-pound weight class at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association’s (THSPA) Region 4 Division 4 Championships.
