Lady Yegua senior Ra’Maya Carter reached a milestone few do in their high school basketball careers -- she has scored 1,000 points. Actually, as of Monday, she has surpassed that mark, reaching that milestone early in the second game for the Lady Yeguas in the Bremond Tournament.

Former Yegua coach leads UT men to win over Rice

After Monday morning’s arrest of University of Texas men’s basketball coach Chris Beard, the university announced it named Rodney Terry as the interim head coach. And, in his first game as interim coach, he coached the Longhorns to an 8781 overtime win over Rice.

Hornet soccer season kicks off with a 6-0 win over Jarrell

The Hornet varsity boys soccer team opened their season Friday night at home at Hornet Stadium against Jarrell, beating the Cougars 6-0. Senior David Goff led the Hornets with four goals. Benjamin Jaimes and Jeffery Tobias each added one goal in the win.

Groce named Academic All-State

Snook Lady Jay volleyball player MacKenzie Groce was recently named to the The Texas Army National Guard and the Texas High School Coaches Association 2022-2023 Academic All-State Volleyball Team. Groce was a Second Team honoreee.

Yeguas fall to Chilton, defeat North Zulch

The Somerville Yeguas lost to Chilton and defeated North Zulch in incomplete results last weekend from the Bremond Tournament. Somerville lost to Chilton 41-37 on Thursday, Dec. 8, and and defeated North Zulch 61-27 on Saturday, Dec. 10. Somerville was scheduled to play Holland on Tuesday, Dec.

Snook beats Granger, goes 1-2 at Cameron Tourney

The Snook Bluejays defeated Granger 46-33 on Dec. 6 and finished 1-2 at the Cameron Tournament last weekend, with a win over Milano and losses to Cameron and Rogers. Against Granger, Snook Head Coach Jordan Hafley said his team finished strong in the fourth quarter and made critical free throws.
