Lady Hornet XC places 4th at Giddings Meet

The Lady Hornet cross country team placed fourth at the Giddings Texas Invitational at Camp Tejas last Friday.
Caldwell finished with a total of 93 points.
Host team Giddings won the team title with a score of 36. La Grange was second with 83 points, and Columbus was third with 85.

The Lady Jays had a rough week last week, losing on the road to Class 2A Number 8 Thrall and at home to Class 1A Number 1 Fayetteville.
In Thrall last Tuesday, Snook fell 12-25, 5-25, 5-25.

Running Yegua XC competes at Moulton

The Running Yegua cross country team ran in the Moulton 34th Annual Invitational 2022 last Saturday with the Somerville girls team finishing sixth in the team standings with 144 points.
Johnson City won the team title with 35 points.

Somerville mistake prone in 61-6 loss to Weimar

The Somerville Yeguas fell to Weimar 61-6 last Friday in Weimar.
The Yeguas fell to 0-3 for the year, and Weimar improved to 2-1.
Weimar led 20-6 after the first quarter and 34-6 at halftime before adding 13 unanswered points in the third quarter and 14 in the fourth.

The Caldwell Junior High School seventhgrade volleyball teams traveled to Smithville last Thursday, and both teams brought home wins.
The seventh-grade A team won in straight sets 25-20, 25-10.

Trnka, Donahue capture Kolache Krunch open titles

Caldwell High School graduate Kymberlee Trnka once again was the fastest female runner in the Kolache Krunch 5K.
The Burleson County Aggie Moms’ Club hosted this year’s race on Saturday, Sept. 10, prior to the opening ceremonies of the Kolache Festival.
Trnka’s time of 21:12.
