Lady Yeguas beat Faith Academy in 3

Last Tuesday, the Lady Yeguas hosted Faith Academy, winning 25-17, 25-14, 25-6. Somerville was led by Ra’Maya Carter with 12 kills and eight digs. Aubrey Kovasovic had an outstanding performance at the service line, serving 13 aces. She also served the last 16 points of the third set for the win.

Caitlyn Faust- Athlete of the week

Last week in against district foe Manor New Tech, Faust was strong from the service line with six aces. She served 28 times for the Lady Hornets with no service errors. Faust’s play helped Caldwell easily win the match in straight sets 25-4, 25-8, 25-11.

Ian Teague - Athlete of the Week

Last week against Yorktown, Teague scored one touchdown on a 36-yard run in the third quarter and threw for three TDs in the fourth -- a 52-yard bomb to Gardner Shivers, a 25-yard pass to Herschel Conway and a 22-yard pass to Dominc Tucker -- to led the Yeguas to a 35-28 come-frombehind win.

Snook prepares for Runge in district opener

The 2-1 Snook Bluejays will open District 14-2A play this Friday against Runge in their homecoming game. Snook is coming off a bye week following a 20-13 home win over Weimar on Sept. 16 at home. Runge, 1-4 overall and 0-1 in district play, is coming off a 43-0 home loss to Louise.

Snook Cross Country runs at Cameron

Members of the Snook XC team ran at the Cameron Invitational 2022 last Saturday. Ethan Janac was the Bluejays’ fastest runner in the boys’ varsity 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:14.5. Tristen Yen ran the race with a time of 19:21.3. Carlos Jose Cortez of Troy won the race with a time of 16:16.

Hornets to face Lexington in last non-district game

The Caldwell Hornets will face Lexington in their final non-district game this Friday in Lexington. The 0-4 Hornets had a bye week after a 63-8 home loss to Madisonville on Sept. 16. Lexington, 4-0, defeated Thrall 66-12 in their last game on Sept. 16 at home.

Snook rallies in 2nd half for 20-13 win over Weimar

The Snook Bluejays, using a balance offense with multiple ball carriers, rallied in the second half with three big scoring drives to defeat Weimar 2013 at home in their final non-district game. Snook improved to 2-1 overall heading into a bye week for the Burleson County Fair.

The Lady Hornets are now 2-0 in district play after their straight set victory over Achieve on the road in Austin. Caldwell easily won in three sets 25-6, 256, 25-12. Ashlyn Kellum led the Lady Hornets with 10 kills, four aces, and eight digs.
