The Caldwell Junior High Dance Team performed for the first time on Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Caldwell-Lexington Junior High football game at Hornet Stadium.

Last week, the Caldwell High School team tennis team went 20-4 in matches to defeat La Grange in bidistrict and Stafford in area -- qualifying for the regional quarterfinals.

Snook’s Janac, Dudensing place 1, 2 at district XC meet

Snook Bluejay cross country runners Ethan Janac and Barrett Dudensing placed first and second at the District 26-2A Cross Country Meet on Thursday, Oct. 9.Janac won the varsity boys race with a time of 17.41, and his teammate Dudensing was seven seconds back with a time of 17.48.

Caldwell offense explosive in 44-14 win over Giddings

Caldwell needed a breakout win, and they got it last Friday in a 4414 victory over Giddings at homecoming.

Yeguas fall 42-23 to unbeaten Burton

The Somerville Yeguas put up some good numbers on offense with a strong rushing game, but turnovers proved costly in a 42-23 homecoming loss to unbeaten Burton.Somerville fell to 3-3 overall and1-2 in district play, now needing two victories in the next three district games to make the playoffs.

ON A ROLL -- The Texas A&M Aggies are on a roll, moving up from #6 to #5 in the nation after a dominating 31-9 victory over the always pesky and sometimes feisty Mississippi State Bulldogs.The Aggies dominated on defense for the second week in a row and improved to 5-0 for the first time since 2016.

At the Texas High School Bass Association’s (THSBA) tournament at Lake Conroe, Beasley placed third with a total catch weight of 19.83 pounds with both first and second place being a duo of anglers.He also caught the biggest bass of the tournament weighing in at 7.71 pounds.

McManus led the Lady Hornets last week against both Navasota and Bellville.Against the Lady Rattlers, she led the team in kills with 10 and in digs with 16.Against the Number 8 Brahmanettes, McManus had 17 kills, two blocks, 11 digs, 25 serves received and an assist.
