Yeguas defeat Milano 34-22 to finish title run

The Somerville Yeguas finished a district championship season with a 34-22 road win at Milano last Friday, again using a strong running game to build a big lead and to put the game away.

Lady Jays lose to Thorndale in playoffs

The Lady Jays fell to Thorndale in the bidistrict round of the UIL Class 2A Division I Volleyball Playoffs last Tuesday night in Giddings 19-25, 9-25, 20-25.Snook was led by sophomore Dakota Kienow with six kills and an ace.

Holland ends Lady Yeguas’ vball season

The Holland Lady Hornets ended Somerville’s volleyball season with the Lady Yeguas falling to Holland 12-25, 17-25, 2025 in the UIL Class 2A Division I bi-district round.The match was played in Cameron last Tuesday night.Holland then fell to Number 5 Schulenberg in area.

Hornets finish with 63-7 loss to Bellville Brahmas

The Caldwell Hornets’ defense surrendered some big yardage, particularly on the ground, in a 63-7 loss last Friday in the season finale at home.Caldwell finished 2-8 for the season and 0-5 in district play while Bellville finished unbeaten in league play and secured the district title.

Lady Hornets fall in area round to Salado

The Lady Hornet volleyball season is over.After an easy threeset win over Stafford in Class 4A Division II Bidistrict, Caldwell faced Number 2 Salado in the area round, falling to the Lady Eagles in three sets.

CHS’s Fritsche takes 6th at Hutto Tournament

The Caldwell High School boys and girls golf teams competed on Nov. 5-6 at The Golf Club at Star Ranch in Hutto, with Kaden Fritsche placing sixth overall for the boys.Fritsche shot one over par for a 72 in the Nov. 5 boys tournament.
