Hornets clinch district title in Smithville win

The Caldwell Hornets rallied for a 10-8 win at Smithville on Tuesday, April 23, to secure an outright district championship.Caldwell had trailed 8-4 after four innings and added three runs each in the top of the fifth and seventh innings for the rally.

Somerville struggles in two losses to Mumford

Th e Somerville Yeguas lost to Mumford 12-0 on the road on Tuesday, April 23, and 19-2 at home on Friday.The Yeguas fell to 4-10 in district play and will face Evadale in a first round playoff on Thursday at West Fork High School in New Caney.Game one will be at 5 p.m.

Snook hot at bat in 11-1 win over RTC

The Snook Bluejays defeated Round Top-Carmine 11-1 last Friday at home in their season finale.Snook lost to the Cubs 2-1 on Tuesday, April 23, in Carmine.

CJH softball falls to Rockdale

Last week, the Caldwell Junior High softball orange team faced Rockdale Junior High, but, unfortunately, CJH did not come home with the win.However, there were some highlights from the game.Jordyn Hafernick went 1-for-1 with a walk.Vera Baker also went 1-for-1 with a single.

The Caldwell Hornets defeated Giddings 7-2 last Friday at home to secure at least a share of the District 26-2A championship.Caldwell, 7-2 in district play, was seeking an outright district title in a road game at Smithville on Tuesday, April 23.
