CHS track competes at regional meet

The Caldwell High School track teams competed at the UIL Class 4A Regional Track & Field Meet at Bullard High School last week.Those making the finals in their events were: * Boys 1600- me ter run: Spencer Ellis, 4:55.52, 16th.Victor Aviles of Burnet won this event with a time of 4:19.40.

Girls finish 8th, boys 10th at regional golf tourney

The Caldwell Lady Hornets golf team placed eighth and the boys team placed 10th last week at the Region III Tournament at Bearkat Course in Huntsville.The Lady Hornets competed on April 17-18 and on the first day shot their second best round of the year with a 389.

Chapman wins gold at Rudder

The Hornet tennis team competed in its final tournament before it hosts the district tournament this Thursday and Friday.The team traveled to Bryan last week to play in the Rudder Ranger Roundup, and Dylan Chapman won the boys singles B draw.

Caldwell Junior High softball season underway

Caldwell Junior High began its softball season earlier this month.In their first game of the season on April 11, the Lady Hornets fell on the road to Thrall 6-0.Though, Caldwell was held scoreless, Kylee Becka tripled to right field.

Somerville defeated by Richards in two games

The Somerville Yeguas lost to Richards 13-2 and 17-12 in two games last week.The Yeguas fell to 5-13 overall and 4-8 in district play. In game one in Somerville, Richards held a 2-1 lead through four innings and then added 9 runs on the top of the fifth.

Lady Hornets finally enter TGCA Top 25 poll

With a 23-8 season record and sitting in first in District 22-4A with a perfect 9-0 record, the Lady Hornets have finally entered the Top 25 Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 4A poll at Number 24.
